Tengo 28 y de repente, 29. Agenda completa, nombres extranjeros. Todos extraños para mí, pero yo me conocería bien a mí misma. Estoy caminando hacía mi nueva casa, mi casa número 20. No vivo en Nueva York. No estoy rodeada de extraños, la mayoría de las caras a mi alrededor me resultan familiares. Tengo una Mac, buenos auriculares, muchos discos duros llenos de fotos. No soy mamá ni estoy casada ni soy famosa. ¿Por qué el universo no me habla? ¿O estaré desatendiendo las señales? Ojalá Saturno esperara algunos años más…
(Según la astrología, entre los primeros 27 y 30 años renacemos de la mano de Saturno. Parece que cuando el planeta anillado vuelve a ubicarse donde estaba cuando nacimos, nos trae cambios drásticos y –como consecuencia inevitable– una gran crisis. Para este proyecto, retraté a 28 mujeres atravesadas por Saturno y les pregunté sobre sus vidas. Fue lindo poder pensar, al menos por un ratito, que todo depende de los planetas y las estrellas).

I am 28 and moments after I turn 29. A complete schedule, foreign names. All strangers to me, but I feel I know myself well. I am walking towards my new house, my house number 20. I do not live in New York. I am not surrounded by strangers, most of the faces around me are familiar. I have a MacBook, good headphones, lots of hard drives full of photos. I am not a mom, I am not married and I am not famous. Why doesn’t the universe speak to me? Or am I neglecting its signs? I wish Saturn would wait a few more years.
(According to astrology, between the first 27 and 30 years of our lives we are somehow reborn thanks to the movement of Saturn. It seems that when the ringed planet returns to the point in the sky where it was when we were born, it brings us drastic changes and, as an inevitable consequence, a great personal crisis. For this project I portrayed 28 women crossed by Saturn and asked them the same questions about their lives. It was nice to be able to think, at least for a little while, that everything depends on the planets and the stars).
